Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities announced on late Wednesday. The athlete was involved in a car accident near Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

The boxer had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

His release from the hospital follows the boxing community shared condolences for the star in the following the heartbreaking incident.
