The rising star maintains substantial online presence
Kai Trump can count on multiple prominent cheerleaders when she starts her LPGA debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is related to a former US president, was granted a sponsor's invitation to play at the Annika competition in Florida.
The former president, a passionate golfer, owns several international courses and regularly matches against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we play some close matches," she stated.
The golfer shared that Trump, who cannot attend, advised her: "Just stay calm."
"He basically advised me to compete and have fun," she explained.
"From my perspective, he's just a regular grandfather. He can't make it for the tournament. He's busy with running the country, so he's quite busy."
Being non-professional, the golfer has participated in only three events in 2024 and holds position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
Yet she's able to receive tips from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He represents the best player worldwide," Kai expressed.
"Additionally, he's an even better human being. He told me to compete, enjoy myself, adapting to the flow."
The golfer will compete against several most prominent players in professional golf at the competition, such as second-ranked the champion, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
Tournament organizers commented that her participation exposes golf to new audiences, especially reaching the next generation.
The social media influencer has a massive following and has started an exclusive apparel and wellness company.
She begins at 17:30 GMT.
