Hulu is Developing a Popular Game TV Series from the Creators of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The latest action-packed game that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it has a reputation for embracing violence and madness with similar excitement, all while weaving gripping, politically driven stories. It’s no surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two creators whose creations have exemplified all of those elements.

What to Expect

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' format by having a new location and cast of characters in each season.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is original, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we do not know what role that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the creator.

“Having the opportunity together with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly accommodating, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And through it all, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their ongoing belief and backing.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an standalone series. Each game is a interpretation of a idea, the same way every run of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” noted Hawley. “To create a large-scale action show that can change from year to year, while always exploring the essence of society through this complex and turbulent lens, is a long-held aspiration. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and present our common unconventional, visionary sensibility to the audience.”

A time frame for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
