Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors report that a ex- physician now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations come after what police called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
Prosecutors said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
