Close to 90 Flights Connected to Epstein Allegedly Came to or from British Airfields
A review has found that nearly 90 aircraft journeys linked to Jeffrey Epstein are said to have touched down at and left UK airfields, with some allegedly carrying British women who allege they were exploited by the convicted child sex offender.
Aviation Records Show Trail of Movement
The travel manifests were part of thousands of court documents and files released by Epstein’s estate that have been disclosed over the past year. The investigation identified 87 aircraft movements tied to Epstein – featuring many that were hitherto undisclosed – landing or taking off from UK airports between the start of the 1990s and 2018.
Onboard Individuals and Post-Conviction Flights
Unnamed women were listed among the travelers entering and exiting the UK. Notably, 15 of these flights involving the UK occurred subsequent to Epstein’s 2008 conviction for soliciting sex from a child.
“This is ‘astonishing’ that there had never been a ‘thorough probe in the UK’ into his dealings in the country,” remarked American attorneys representing hundreds of Epstein victims.
British Victims and Court Cases
Testimony from one of the British victims aided the conviction of Epstein’s accomplice socialite Ghislaine Maxwell of sex trafficking of minors in the US in 2021. But, that individual has not been approached by British law enforcement, according to her Florida-based lawyer.
In a statement, the the Met stated they had “not received any new evidence that would support restarting the investigation.” They added, “Should new and relevant information be brought to our attention, including any arising from the disclosure of documents in the US, we will evaluate it.”
Continuing Disclosure and Judicial Decisions
Proposed legislation to make public all files held by the US government in regarding Epstein passed the House and Senate last month. The US justice department has until 19 December to follow through. Hundreds of thousands of papers are anticipated to be released.
Additionally, a US judge decided last week that the department could disclose investigative materials from a sex-trafficking case against Maxwell, Epstein’s long-term associate, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence over the allegations.
