Clair Obscur Dominates at the 2025 Gaming Honors
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and through an impressive show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. This standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive secured the esteemed Top Game award, along with accolades for Best Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Enhancing the studio's triumph, the gifted performers also received personal awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Actor for his work as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself was honored as Top Studio. In total, Clair Obscur and its makers won 7 awards during the event.
Additional major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Top Sound Design and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Best PC Game. Notably, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the audience, with only four awards—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by experts.
